President 2018-2019, Deidra Kistler
Hello! I’m Deidra Kistler and I’m from Edmond, Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a double major in Accounting and Finance. I have lived in Norman for the past 18 years and absolutely adore this city. I have worked for the Hal Smith Restaurant Group for 14 years alongside my awesome husband, Brandon, who is the managing partner for The Garage, Pub W, and The Winston restaurant concepts. We have two wonderful boys, Fain, age 8, and Ewing, age 3. Fain is a third grader at Terra Verde. Ewing will attend preschool this year while he not so very patiently waits to become a “big guy” who goes to Bubby’s school.
Terra Verde is such an amazing school. It allows the children to learn in such an open and welcoming environment. The emphasis on social development as well as academic makes Terra Verde such a unique and incredible institution for growth and knowledge. The kids get to raise chickens and learn how to run their own restaurant while they are also learning about philanthropy and entrepreneurism. Our kids get a warm and friendly environment to be a part of every day thanks to our wonderful headmaster Dr. Snyder, our fabulous Director Ms. Berryhill, our incredible teachers and staff, and last but not least, our amazing families. Terra Verde truly is family.
I am so excited to be your PTO president for the school year 2018-2019. We are going to have another fantastic year! We have so many wonderful events, such as the Grandparents’ Day Picnic, the Jog-a-Thon, and Green Gala, as well as many others to look forward to throughout the year. The PTO offers a wonderful opportunity to become involved in the Terra Verde community. We have such diverse and wonderful sets of parents and grandparents who contribute to making TVDS an incredible place to be a part of, whether it be with their time, money, expertise, etc… In the past year I have developed so many wonderful new friendships, and Fain has found some very special friends as well. The PTO’s motto this school year is “It takes a village…” and that sense of community is one of the many reasons Terra Verde is so special. Thank you all for making Terra Verde so incredible.
